Hudson Booth, a Para Athletics athlete from Canada, took a precious moment of his time to fill out our CP World Games questionnaire and give us a glimpse into his journey to the Games. We are just dying to see what he said, aren’t you? Check out his answers below.
What did you do when you knew you were going to participate in the CP World Games?
I was excited to go represent Canada and show everybody what I can do.
Will Sant Cugat 2018 be your first CP World Games experience? Are you nervous?
Yes, this will be my first experience at the CP World Games. This will actually be my first international experience. No, I’m not nervous. I am just really excited.
What does it mean for you to participate in the games?
This is the next step towards my dream of competing at the Paralympics for Canada.
Since when did you train to prepare the CP World Games?
I have been training seriously since the summer of 2015 after I saw the Para Panam Games in Toronto. I didn’t know the CP World Games even existed until late fall of 2017. In the beginning of 2018, I started weight training for the first time to help prepare or the track season with hopes of getting the chance to go to Spain.
What is your goal in the CP World Games?
My goal for the CP World Games is to set new Personal Bests and new Canadian records for a T35 in the 100m, 200m and 400m races. While I am aiming for that I want to do a good job representing Canada.
